Thursday, November 10th, 2011 | Posted by nhsbelinda

Cutline are a duo from Bristol, formed early in 2010 when long time friends Jeryl Wilton and Dan Wilberforce decided to officially become purveyors of eclectic UK bass music and bring their DJ skills to the masses. Their first release was in April 2010, a move which kick started their career as remixers and producers and was swiftly followed up with releases on Suicide Dub, Never Say Die, Ninja Tune as well as Hospital, on London Elektricity’s “Yikes! Remixes” album.

HospitalityDNB are pleased to welcome the pair to Hospitality Birmingham on Friday 2nd December, and in honour of the occasion they’ve rustled up a 30 min mix and provided a witty and entertaining read for you below…

For many of you, Dan Gresham will be a familiar face. Having signed to Hospital in 2003, he’s been responsible for two artist albums – ‘Brave Nu World’ in 2005 and ‘Back Of Beyond’ in 2007 – as well as curating the ‘Future Sound Of Cambridge’ with Logistics and Commix in 2008. Now in 2011, Dan brings us his third album - ‘Words + Pictures’ – possibly his most ambitious project to date featuring collaborations with: 4 Hero, Ben Westbeech, Natalie Willams, Stac, Logistics, Heidi Vogel, Lisa Milett, Kyan and Sophie Paul.

Interview + fabric mix: Joe Syntax

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 | Posted by nhsbelinda

Following the success of the Med School takeover in Room Three at fabric on 7th January, we’ve got a number of Med School rooms coming up at Hospitality events across the UK in the coming months, including Birmingham on 29th January, Southampton on 4th March, Cambridge on 12th March and Bristol on 29th April.

For those of you who don’t know, alongside Hospital we also run Med School Music. Med School nurtures new talent and focuses on the deeper, more minimal flavours of D+B. A quick delve into the back catalogue brings out such names as Bop, Randomer, Unquote, Icicle, Fracture + Neptune and S.P.Y, so as you can imagine, the Med School “sound” really compliments the big room, dancefloor energy of the main room Hospitality events. Expect the unexpected…from techno influenced electronica to tough, sparse sounds to half time D+B and back again, Med School never fails to impress!

We thought we would catch up with recent Med School signing and rising star Joe Syntax to introduce himself and what he’s got lined up with Med School over the coming months when he came down to Hospital HQ last week to use the studio. You may recognise Joe from his previous releases on Hospital , or ‘Unified’ from the free 3 track EP which is available with all ticket purchases for our event in Brixton on April 22nd
