Chibuku has a rich and illustrious history as one of the Liverpool’s major club / promotors. It started as a club in the late 90s with an ethos of “undiluted partying”. Since this time, the brand has expanded and has been voted in the “Top 50 Clubs In The World” – an accolade which is a testament to the line up these guys put on week in week out. Bringing together big names with the cutting edge underground, Chibuku’s legacy will now doubt live on.
Celebrating a decade in the game, we are pleased to partner with them for our Hospitality Liverpool event at legendary venue The Masque on Saturday 1st October 2011.
Straight off the back of Hospitality Brixton on 30th September, Hospitality Liverpool will be hosting the next leg of Camo & Krooked’s “Cross The Line” album launch alongside other stars from the Hospital roster and across the bass music scene at large.
Dirtyphonics are most associated with their energetic and crazy live sets afterbeckoning fame by having been discovered by Shimon and signed to his label, Audioporn. The four of them have often been credited with being the first act to combine D+B and dubstep in huge tracks that have attracted the attention andsupport of DJs including Andy C and DC Breaks. Armed with a wealth of remixes, including that of Nero, Shockone and Does It Offend You Yeah? the four have propelled their way to the top rapidly.
Hospitalitydnb.com contributor, Olivia Stroud, spoke with the self-prescribed ‘dirty’ French quartet to investigate what exactly makes their sets unique, who would be the last to survive if they were stranded on a desert island and when we can expect to see a debut album…
It’s over to Reini and Markus a.k.a Camo & Krooked for now as they share their experiences of Hospitality at Parklife Festival with us….
7pm: The Hospitality stage at Parklife had been the most crowded for the whole day and as we arrived around 7 pm, Andy C just started his set.
9pm: The weather just cleared up and the sun was shining, so after some chilling, a festival burger and some beers in plastic bottles it was time for us to start our set from 9 – 10pm with MC Dynamite. We had some great fun testing our forthcoming album tunes on a festival crowd – and the reaction was brilliant! Great vibes, you just got to love festivals
10pm: After us Netsky was on – nice to hear some of his unreleased tunes, good stuff!
11pm: The Festival was over at 11pm as it was an all-day festival, so we tried to catch a taxi before everybody else would be leaving the area, and got driven to the hotel again.
12pm: Arriving at the hotel we found out the kitchen was already closed so we had to get pizzas from a curry/kebab/schnitzel food order (they had basically everything!) And you know how good these pizzas are….they are HORRIBLE. Still they killed the hunger and left us with at least 2 pounds more, watching the final episodes of “The Inbetweeners” and playing endless rounds of Tower Madness on our iPads!
The morning after….
The next day the flight back from Manchester to Vienna over Palma de Mallorca. We managed to see a lot of drunk Germans there and rednecks getting in to the check-in hall with a ghetto blaster full on, singing German hymns (the SAUERLAND anthem!)…. definitely fun to watch
Camo & Krooked – “All Fall Down / Breezeblock” is out now on digital download from iTunes / Hospital Shop. Head to www.camoandkrooked.com to keep up to date with everything C&K.
