City Spotlight: Leamington Spa

Leamington Spa is a fairly new stop-off for Hospitality, with our first show hitting the city in March at The Assembly last year. We had such a great time that we’re returning for the second time on 25th November with Metrik, Danny Byrd, Nu: Tone and Krakota, and special guest Friction!

The Assembly is a seriously special venue for Leamington Spa. With a rich history, the art-deco, multi-function space used to serve as a space for balls and dances back in the early 1900s, attracting dances like the famous Waltz and Foxtrot. In 2008, millions of pounds was invested in redeveloping the building, and the venue was reborn becoming a hub for live music and one of the world’s biggest drum & bass parties for countless nights of ground-breaking bass.

Hidden beneath The Assembly is Zephyr Lounge, an intimate venue that, although fairly smaller in size, is a hidden gem, focusing more on niche nights from an eclectic range of artists. Zephyr Lounge is perfect for catching some of your favourite resident DJs. It’s a venue with a community, where you won’t lose your mates in the crowd, but you’ll still be exposed to some pretty top notch tunes.

Fat Boy Records, dedicated to grime and bass and spearheaded by a local promoter, hold regular nights at Zephyr. Fat Boy Records launched in June, kicking things off with a d&b and garage night from local MCs and DJs like M-BAR-C and Riddla. Earlier this month they brought Birmingham-born MC Devilman to the show as a special guest, an MC with a die-hard cult following and an even more die-hard rivalry with Skepta. Fat Boy Records nights are authentic and true to bass culture, never bringing commercial artists and always focusing on local Midlands talent.

Leamington Spa is definitely an up and coming city in the vibrant Midlands, starting to compete with it’s Brummie neighbour. Although smaller in scale and not everyone’s city of choice for a weekend blow-out, it’s gaining an increasing richness in bass music such as drum & bass, grime, house and techno. It is for this reason why Hospitality are not going to miss this city in the UK from now on, and we hope you won’t either.

Catch this huge line-up at the end of the month by grabbing tickets now! These won’t last long so don’t sleep.

Hospitality Brighton at Fright Festival 2016

Hospitality at Fright Festival 29.10.16: Get your freak on!

We do love Halloween at Hospital HQ, so this year we’re stepping up our game and hitting two prized spots with enough spook and spice to shake a broomstick at. Not only are we returning to The Masked Ball down in the misty moors of Cornwall but we’re also venturing, for the first time, to Fright Festival in Brighton! Now in it’s 2nd year, Fright Festival is a concoction of Halloween madness and great music, exploring the tricks and treats of electronic music. The gates open at midday to floods of zombies, creatures and ghouls until 2am. That’s 14 hours of pure bass fuelled magic.

To get in the spirit of things we’ve picked our favourite Halloween freaks from our previous Hospitality specials. Who will you be?
