Hospitality Leeds Room 2 – 21st Feb 2014

Ahead of our first Leeds show of 2014, we’re pulling out all the stops to bring you an unmissable night, packed with top-level DJs filling both rooms 1 and 2. Complementing our heavyweight Hospital favourites in the main room, the underground basement setting of Room 2 will be playing host to a selection of super special names from outside the realms of Drum & Bass.  Just incase you’re not familiar here’s what to expect including an exclusive mix from Divisadero to get you in the mood….

 Zed Bias

UkG legend Zed Bias hit the UK Charts in 2000 with Neighbourhood, which is now widely regarded as one of the all time classic UK Garage tracks. It’s safe to say he is named as one of the pioneers of break beat garage but one who still to this day stays a head of the game with his production. Over the years we have seen him with a number of releases under different pseudonyms and collaborations and a lot of you may know him as Maddslinky on swamp 81. We’re so excited to have Zed Bias headline our room two and know that with his variety and experience in the game he will not disappoint.

Bristol producer Ashley ‘Woz’ Westlake signed to black butter records in 2012 with his remix of Rudimental’s ‘Feel The Love’ featuring Childish Gambino, racking up over 170K plays on SoundCloud in the process. He also mixed the massive Scrufizzer VS. Black Butter mixtape that premiered on Noisey in July. Even though Woz has got a number of fresh releases under his belt we feel this is just the beginning for him and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the plate at leeds.

New York Transit Authority

Many people may know NYTA as Mensah from Bristol.  The ‘New York Transit Authority’ name was first adopted for a split 12″ release with Conqueror (Redlight) on Redlight’s Lobster Boy label last year. His side was a slinky, 808 house number entitled ‘Off The Traxx’, which deservedly found its way into FACT’s 50 best tracks of the year & was caned by a wide range of top DJs across the globe. NYTA has already proven himself as a talent on the decks with sets across the world &  this mix ‘the one’ for FACT mag that finished in the top 20 best FACT mixes of the year.

Divisadero <With Exclusive Mix>

Drawing on a wide array of musical influences, ranging all the way from ambient electronica to the darker realms of Drum & Bass, via classic House, Techno & UK Garage, Divisadero (aka London-based DJ & producer Rhys Bainham) typifies a fusion of these differing inspirations. Expect to hear solid 4/4 beats, coupled with intricate percussion & characteristically distinctive baselines. Despite being very much a newcomer to the scene, his debut production “Nightfall” has gained a huge amount of positive support from a variety of producers & labels, paving the way for an official release later in the year.
